Honored 'Clan' at Triad Highland Games 2002

Every year the Triad Highland Games in Archdale, NC, as with other Games, has an Honored Clan. This year the most appropriate group was the Scottish American Military Society National. SAMS Post 1775 hosted SAMS National's honor and manned the tent. They also took care of the Opening Ceremonies, Military Appreciation Ceremony, and the Tartan Parade (Closing Ceremony).

The National and Post 1775 filled a very important role at the 2002 Triad Highland Games. With SAMS being made up of military veterans and members coming from many different clans it was thought as fitting that the Honored Clan for 2002 be SAMS National. We at SAMS and the Triad Highland Games salute our military as well as our public works groups, police, fire, medical, and other branches who served so selflessly on September 11, 2001. They still serve today and will continue to serve as the need arises. Let's all keep them in our prayers.

Junny Jackson

Vice Commander, SAMS Post 1775

Co-founder, Triad Highland Games
